American Madonna
"American Madonna" is a 11'x 14" oil on wood panel painting by artist Rich Dye completed in 2025. The subject of a Native American woman and child in this portrait makes me think about the way the indigenous people of the Americas lived so close to nature before the Europeans colonized the Americas and bought western culture. The concept of living one with nature instead of seeing yourself a part from, or superior to, other life forms and in God's likeness, arrived here in Christian philosophy.
